Test Shoot with Gracie

I recently had the pleasure of having Gracie from Manchester modelling agency, Vauhaus step into my studio again for a portfolio update.

Gracie is an incredible hair, beauty and fashion model and with her hair changing regularly, it makes sense to keep her book current.

When we shot previously, everything was on a pure white background with a completely different feel. This time, I wanted the lighting to feel more dynamic and contrasting, without becoming distracting.

Using the new Amaran constant lights I have in the studio, I built a few structured lighting setups that added shape and depth behind her. It meant we could play more with shadow, angles and contrast, while still keeping everything clean and flattering.

This was completely different to my usual go-to flash set up (but I’m low-key obsessed) while I still think the images have my signature look and feel.
