Photographing Kilter’s Luxury Leather Collection
I recently had the pleasure of working with Kilter, a luxury British brand creating beautifully crafted leather accessories designed to bring elegance, confidence, and intention into intimate spaces. Founded from a desire to create pleasure tools that feel just as beautiful as the people using them, Kilter is redefining what luxury BDSM accessories can look and feel like.
For this shoot, we were capturing a collection of their handcrafted leather collars and signature paddles, alongside a range of ecommerce imagery that would support both their online shop and wider brand marketing. It was an opportunity to create a mixture of creative campaign imagery and practical product photography, all within the same studio session.
Bringing the Kilter Vision to Life
The shoot took place in my studio, where we focused on creating imagery that reflected Kilter's balance of softness, strength, and sophistication.
Working alongside model Hol Priscilla (@holliemcvey_modelling), we developed a set that felt feminine, luxurious, and inviting. One of my favourite elements from the day was the backdrop concept, which came directly from the brand owner's vision. We transformed the studio space using layers upon layers of gorgeous baby pink tulle, creating a soft draped backdrop that added texture, depth, and a subtle sense of romance to the images.
The contrast worked beautifully. The softness of the pink fabric complemented the rich leather products, helping the craftsmanship and detail stand out while still feeling aligned with the Kilter brand.
Alongside the creative campaign images, we also photographed a range of ecommerce product photographs. Whenever possible, I like to maximise studio time for my clients, so capturing both lifestyle and ecommerce content during the same session allowed us to build a versatile image library that could be used across the website, social media, marketing campaigns, and future product launches.
A Thoughtful Approach to Brand Photography
What I enjoyed most about this project was how clearly Kilter understands its audience and values, they celebrate feminine confidence, craftsmanship, beauty, and personal exploration through thoughtfully designed products. That gave us a really strong creative foundation to work from.
The styling remained intentionally simple, allowing the products to take centre stage while still creating imagery with personality and atmosphere. The baby pink tulle added softness without becoming distracting, and Hol brought a calm confidence to the shoot that perfectly complemented the collection.

Creating Content That Works Across Multiple Platforms
One of the biggest advantages of planning a shoot like this is being able to create a variety of content in a single session.
By combining ecommerce photography with campaign imagery, Kilter now has a bank of assets that can be used across multiple touchpoints. From clean product pages to social media content and promotional materials, every image has a purpose while remaining visually consistent with the brand's identity.
For growing businesses, this approach often provides far more value than creating content for a single use alone. It ensures that every hour spent in the studio contributes towards building a stronger, more cohesive brand presence.
