Jewellery Photography for Soul Sister Jewellery

I recently had the absolute joy of working with Soul Sister Jewellery to create some product photography for their crystal jewellery collections. The shoot was all about showcasing their bracelets, necklaces and earrings for use on their Etsy shop and ecommerce store.

Sophie, the founder, is an absolute gem herself. A certified Reiki and crystal healer, she pours her energy into every single piece. Her jewellery is not only beautiful but carries powerful healing properties – think calming amethyst, energising citrine, balancing rose quartz. Every design is made with intention, and that really came through in how we styled and shot the pieces.

We wanted to create a cohesive set of images that captured both the aesthetic and the spirit of the brand, using her previous product photography as a reference point. We were after clean, stylised images that really let the crystals have their moment.

Sophie brought along a brilliant selection of props she’d built up over time – crystals, textured fabrics, natural elements – all carefully chosen to reflect the brand identity and complement the pieces. Each one added a little touch of personality and magic to the shots.

I’m a big fan of clients bringing their own props – not just for creative reasons, but because it’s a great way to promote sustainability. Building a prop bank means we can reuse and repurpose items rather than buying new for every shoot. It helps cut down on waste, avoids single-use materials, and makes a real difference to the environmental impact of content creation. Plus, using meaningful, handpicked items always makes the final images feel more authentic and aligned with the brand.

Nothing off-the-shelf here – just thoughtful styling with soul.

Lighting-wise, we kept things simple and clean. We worked with soft directional light to bring out the textures and sparkle of the stones without blowing out the details. Simple yet elevated setups gave us a nice variety for both product listings and lifestyle content for future marketing materials.

Here’s a little peek at what we created.
