A Test Shoot with Freddie
I recently had the chance to shoot with Freddie (@freddielaws_) at my studio, Studio 44. It was a model test, and since the studio’s still fairly new, I’ve been loving experimenting with different setups and my latest set build. Freddie’s represented by The Crowd Models, The Four Models, and Reep Model Management, and he brought such great energy to the day.
We started things off with some fresh polaroids to keep things simple and a two-light set up. Once we’d got those nailed, Freddie switched into an incredible two-piece suit and we played around with the angles and stripes. There’s something about the clean lines of tailoring that works so well in the studio, especially when paired with that crisp lighting.
Then came my classic one light setup - a go-to for me when I want something moody and striking. Freddie completely leaned into it, bringing full-on rockstar energy. Always obsessed with this lighting! We wrapped the day on my brand-new set, soaking up those muted rich blue tones. His jeans and leather jacket combo just tied everything together perfectly.
It’s shoots like this that remind me how much I enjoy testing and experimenting - finding new ways to use the space and watching how different textures and tones come alive under the light.
