Shooting around the gardens at Duncombe Park with Katey was one of those days where the concept stayed loose on purpose. The location did most of the work for us, with its formal layout, open views and little pockets of structure that you can just drop fashion into.
The idea was layered styling that felt slightly undone. Nothing overly styled or too precious. We played with mixing pieces that would not normally sit together, like dresses over T shirts, scarves thrown in, tailoring softened with casual layers, and kept shifting things as we moved through different parts of the gardens. It was more about reacting than sticking to a fixed set of looks.
Katey was great at keeping everything feeling natural and unforced, which suited the tone of the shoot. We were constantly adjusting and rebuilding outfits depending on where we were in the space, letting the surroundings dictate the rhythm rather than forcing it. It kept things quite fluid, which is usually where the best moments happen.
By the end of it, it felt like a set of images that sit somewhere between styled and spontaneous. Just fashion working with a location rather than sitting on top of it. Take a look at some of our fave images.
