2025 Roundup & Reflections

What a whirlwind this year has been. Honestly, I feel like I’ve barely stopped to breathe, never mind take in everything that’s happened!

This has been my best year commercially, with more shoots, clients, partnerships and opportunities than ever. It’s also been a reflective one, set against a backdrop of many fellow creatives facing real challenges.

The biggest shift began with saying goodbye to Luxe Noir Studios, my first creative home. And just like that, Studio 44 was born. A fresh space, two fresh new set builds, and that lovely spark you only get when you’re building something from scratch again.

From there, it’s been a blur in the best way. I’ve had the absolute joy of shooting for some incredible people and brands, including the England Women’s Rugby team during one of their biggest years to date. I also hopped over to Marrakesh for a dreamy shoot and worked with the wonderful Pippa of London on imagery that made me fall in love with beauty photography all over again.

It’s been a wild mix of creativity, graft, and pinch-me moments. Take a look below at some of my favourite projects from this year.

Pippa of London

This year I worked with Pippa of London on a full beauty campaign shoot to support the launch of two new products, including their latest release, Miraculous. I led the photography, retouching and set and location, and brought together a small team for videography and hair and makeup to deliver a cohesive set of imagery and video assets for the campaign. The focus was on capturing colour, texture and how the eye pencils shift and glow in different light, which made them such a joy to shoot. Miraculous is out now, and it’s been exciting to be part of a launch that feels so considered and creatively bold, with more to come in 2026.

Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 Trophy Tour

Earlier this year I was commissioned to photograph the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 Trophy Tour as it arrived in York, capturing the iconic trophy against landmarks including York Minster, Clifford’s Tower and the city centre. The brief focused on showcasing the tournament through a local lens, connecting the future of women’s rugby with the history and community of the city. World Rugby’s decision to commission local female photographers at each stop made this project especially meaningful, placing representation and authentic storytelling at the heart of the tour. Seeing families, locals and visitors engage with the trophy throughout the day was a reminder that this was about more than sport. It was about visibility, legacy and York playing its part in a global moment for women’s rugby.

Soul Sister Jewellery

I worked with Soul Sister Jewellery to create a set of clean, stylised product images for their crystal jewellery collections, designed for use across their Etsy shop and ecommerce platforms. The focus was on letting the pieces shine while staying true to the brand’s calm, intentional energy, using natural props, textured fabrics and crystals curated by founder Sophie herself. Keeping the styling thoughtful and minimal allowed the materials, colours and healing qualities of each piece to take centre stage, while soft directional lighting helped bring out texture and detail without overpowering the jewellery. The result was a cohesive set of imagery that feels authentic, considered and perfectly aligned with the soul of the brand.

Studio 44!

This year I opened Studio 44, my new photography space in Pudsey, West Leeds, and it’s quickly become home to a brilliant mix of commercial, beauty, fashion, jewellery, lifestyle and boudoir shoots. It’s been designed to be practical, comfortable and flexible with it’s modular sets and furniture - and can utilise natural light, strobes and constant lighting, plus space to actually breathe between sets. More than anything, Studio 44 is about creating a calm, collaborative environment where clients and creatives can feel at ease and focus on making great work together.

Boudoir Photography

You know the drill, I don’t share client boudoir images, and that’s something I’m incredibly proud of. Keeping this work private and safe for my clients always comes first. In 2025 alone I photographed over 30 gorgeous women on boudoir shoots, each one centred around confidence, comfort and feeling truly seen. It does mean I don’t have much to publicly showcase, so this set was created with a model I commissioned earlier this year purely to represent some of my boudoir work. It gives a glimpse into the style, tone and care that goes into every session, without compromising the trust my clients place in me.

Fashion Shows

This year I was back behind the camera photographing fashion shows across Yorkshire, including York Fashion Week and the Leeds RAG Fashion Show. From intimate, community-led runways to large-scale productions, these events were about far more than clothes. York Fashion Week brought together independent designers, local brands and powerful storytelling. Leeds RAG Fashion Show explored fashion through time and culture, while raising money for vital charities and proving that creativity can drive real change.

York Photographers

This year I became part of the York Photographers journey as a board member, marketing consultant and events assistant, and it’s been such a rewarding thing to be involved in. Alongside an incredible group of creatives, I’ve helped shape and support a programme of events designed to bring photographers together, share knowledge and build confidence across the community. From workshops to talks, it’s been a joy to help create spaces where people feel welcomed, supported and inspired.

TV Interview

I was asked by ITV to appear in an interview on ITV Calendar News to discuss AI in Fashion Photography! Ok it didn’t work out in the end due to production schedules *sob* - but have a read of my blog to hear my thoughts about whether or not AI is a threat to inclusivity.

Publications

This year my work was featured across a range of print and digital publications, including MALVIE Magazine with Moroccan Mirage, Sublime’s Sustainable Fashion Edit, MOB Magazine’s Sultry & Sustainable and HIGH VOLT’s Full Throttle. I also had the honour of landing front covers with ARTELLS Magazine for the Tarttu editorial and DARKLY Magazine for both Dripped in Gold and Red Hot Run Wild. Seeing these projects published, and in some cases front and centre, has been a really rewarding moment and a reminder of the power of personal work, collaboration and staying true to your creative voice.

Best of 2025

Here is a snapshot of some of my favourite images captured across 2025!

Resolutions for 2026

This year I’m thinking bigger than shoots and edits. I want to grow in ways that feel meaningful, creative and can support my YoY growth.

  • Build stronger brand partnerships – Focus on working with brands that match my style and values, creating campaigns that feel collaborative and considered, not just a quick photoshoot.

  • Level up boudoir and empowerment – Keep refining the experience for clients so they feel safe, confident and completely in control of their images.

  • Sharpen my production mindset – Continue running full campaign shoots with my micro-team and build more talent base, covering planning, pre-production and delivery, so every project is smooth and creative.

  • Content that works hard – Produce imagery that does more than look nice, performing for clients on website, social and ads by blending creativity with marketing insight.

  • Refine case studies and storytelling – Share more behind-the-scenes, campaign thinking and strategic insights so people understand the thinking behind the photos.

  • Intentional test shoots – Be selective and purposeful with personal or test projects, experimenting in ways that feed my portfolio and inspire future work.

  • Sustainable and thoughtful practices – Keep reducing waste, using local talent and resources, and choosing shoots that make sense creatively and environmentally.

  • Be present in the creative community – More workshops, talks, collaborations and check-ins with fellow creatives, because inspiration flows both ways.

  • Keep the play alive – Don’t forget the joy in photography, those little experiments, lighting experiments or unexpected ideas that make shoots feel exciting again.

  • Achieve more of a work/life balance – Prioritising time for rest, hobbies and friends alongside projects, so creativity stays fresh and work feels rewarding, not overwhelming.

If you got to the bottom of this blog, thank you so much! To everyone who’s supported me, invested in my services or contributed to our work this year - You’re the best. All the love and best wishes for 2026! 💖
